An Exploration of Wisdom Tradition Teachings and Practices bearing on this major life transition.
Whether you are you approaching, currently navigating, or are reflecting on this transition, consider joining us for this workshop.
In the Yoga Tradition, life is understood to have four distinct stages (Ashramas): Student (Brahmacharya ~ Ages 0–25) Householder (Grihastha ~ Ages 25–50) Forest Dweller (Vanaprastha ~ Ages 50–75) Renunciate (Sannyasa ~ Ages 75+)
The transition into the Forest Dweller stage typically unfolds as children launch and careers wind down. Yet, modern culture offers very few supports for navigating this transition wisely, intentionally and beneficially. In this 2.5-hour workshop, we will gather in community to explore, discuss, vision, and nurture the possibilities of this liminal space between who we were as ‘Householders’ and who we are becoming as ‘Forest Dwellers’.
Drawing on teachings from the Yoga Tradition and other wisdom paths, this workshop will explore teachings bearing on this time of radical transformation. We will contemplate our concerns, consider and vision our desires, and reimagine our purpose.
What to Expect: Rich Group Discussion & Facilitated Inquiry. A safe, open space to share visions, uncertainties, and reflections.
