THE ALPINE TEAM
Stefanie Clift
Founder, E-RYT 200, YACEP
I am a local gal who loves to be outdoors. Living in paradise allows for some great activities. Some of these activities, however, take a bit of a toll on my body. With my yoga practice I'm able to balance my life with movement, breath and mindfulness. I am even able to play outside better and with more ease! All of my life I have played team sports. My first introduction to meditation was through college soccer, but my first real experience in a hot room was in October of 2013 my friend invited me to Alpine to do yoga for a cause, I have been hooked ever since. Yoga is a wonderful way to balance everyday living for sports enthusiast like myself and for everyone I know. If you know me, I cannot stop talking at any time of the day, or thinking of what I have to do next in my life except for yoga practice. I have learned what my body is capable of and have pushed my limits and I also have learned that practice takes patience, hard work and also rest. So many beautiful ways that Yoga has changed my life, I have learned to be more accepting, patient, kind, gentle and loving towards myself and others. I love how Yoga heals the body from the inside out. Yoga is so many different things to so many different folks, but I truly am blessed to be a part of BHY, the close connection with my Yogi’s and Yogini’s. I want to share with all that I know what Yoga can do for you, I am so excited to be teaching and looking forward to breakthroughs with students and our shared love for yoga.
Mary Klarich
Owner, RYT 200
Mary is an avid runner who has been running half marathons, marathons, and ultras for the past 30 years. She has also been a middle and high school administrator for 18 years. A couple of years ago, her husband, James, gave her a hot yoga gift card for her birthday. With the encouragement of her daughter, Megan, Mary went to a Hot Hatha class and in her words, “it felt better than a massage.” Mary’s yoga journey began. After several months of Hatha, Vinyasa, Power, Fusion, and Yin practice, Mary decided to become an instructor. She trained with Just Breathe in Yakima, Washington. Mary enjoys guiding people through their own practice and journey. She also enjoys the positive connection yoga has with one’s own mental, physical, emotional and spiritual state of being. Breath and movement: who I am.
Heidi Bard
RYT 500
Heidi's introduction to yoga started when she visited her aunt in India 30 years ago and she has practice there for many visits in the Ashtanga tradition. Learning more about yoga has deepened her connections while travelling the world, and Heidi received her 200 YTT in Thailand and her 500 YTT in Bali. Yoga has guided Heidi through many life transitions and helped her move with mover strength and flexibility in mind and body.
Yoga has helped Heidi thrive during the menopause transition and she is passionate about supporting others during this powerful time of life. Heidi loves the heat of the hot room, and her idea of a perfect class is 100 degrees and a strong practice focused on strength, balance, flexibility and functional movement. If she isn't at the studio, she is hiking far into the mountains with her family or growing delicious food in her garden.

Keisha Buchanan
CYT 200
I found yoga in my teen years and was reintroduced to it in my early twenties by a lovely friend, Stefanie Clift. I practiced with her and truly enjoyed her style of being silly and fun. I completed my teacher training with Ojas Collective in 2022 and found myself and my voice as a teacher. Yoga has been a creative outlet for me and I have loved the art of sequencing and teaching. Sharing the therapy and gift of yoga with all the lovely people I get to meet.

Sonja Hurley
RYT 500
Yoga has been part of my life for 25 years, though like the ebbs and flows of nature, not always consistent. Several years ago a chronic shoulder injury caused a pause and reflection on how I was working with my body. This led to a deeper dive back into yoga for the physical healing aspect of the practice. Which in turn led to an inquiry of the more philosophical and spiritual aspects of yoga. I have been fortunate to study in both India and Bali, two divine areas rich in yoga history. It is my goal to bring balance and alignment of spirit and body, breath and movement, creativity and structure with a place of acceptance to every class.
Leah Juhle
RYT 200, RYT 500 (in progress)
Leah discovered yoga as a newly minted (and rather stressed) college graduate. Juggling multiple jobs and long hours hunched over lab benches left her with an aching back and a frazzled mind. Over the next 30 odd years, she gradually traded research and patient care for writing about and guiding people through healthy movement practices. Leah firmly believes that moving joyfully is the single best way to improve your life and the lives of those around you.
You can expect her classes to be warm, welcoming, and tailored to what students need most on any given day. Leah is a Master’s-prepared Family Nurse Practitioner, 200-hour RYT (with her 500 hour RYT nearly finished!), and a Mat Pilates teacher. When she’s not in teaching mode, you can find her in pursuit of every outdoor adventure on offer in the Pacific Northwest.
Skye MacLeod
Certified Pilates Instructor, Physical Mind Institute NY
Certified Personal Trainer, National Academy of Sports Medicine
I’m a believer in all things Pilates. After a near death car accident in 2006, it was the only practice that healed my body completely. I knew it was my calling, and became certified from the Physical Mind Institute in New York City in 2012, and have been teaching ever since. Growing up in my mom’s Pilates studio, I saw first-hand how this movement practice could change lives. By focusing on functional movement patterns - push, pull, hinge, squat, lunge, carry; we lengthen and strengthen the body as it was designed to perform in everyday life. Expect to push yourself, sweat (a lot), laugh, cry, and discover just how strong and capable you truly are.
Michaela Myers
RYT 200
Michaela, grew up in the Pacific Northwest and moved to the Hwy 2 corridor 4 years ago. She works as a wildland firefighter and ski patroller, and enjoys any kind of playing in the mountains. She is passionate about the mindfulness and body awareness aspects of yoga. She sees yoga as a powerful vehicle for healing and resiliency. In 2016, Michaela studied under a yogi in India for 6 months and was hooked. She then formally completed her 200hr Yoga Alliance teacher training in 2018. She can’t wait to share no-pressure yoga with the community!
Katie Kassa
RYT 200
I've been practicing yoga for 20 years. I did my teacher training in Seattle in 2018 before moving to Leavenworth. Pregnancy, a newborn, work and COVID all kept me from teaching right away. I was so lucky I got to kickstart my teaching with a Hatha training with Stephanie. I teach Hatha and vinyasa at the studio, most currently a fun power class. I love focusing on warming up, isolated muscle activation and alignment in poses. My go to is a powerful sweaty class!
Alex Ulmke
RYT 200
Alex is well known to have a deep love of movement. From her personal travels in her trusty VW van, to her constant dancing wherever she is, yoga has been a sense of home wherever she goes. That sense of a big exhale when you get into your first down dog, no matter where you are you can always roll out the mat. Gaining her 200 hour YTT at the Grinning Yogi in Seattle, she is an experienced instructor with lotus flow- a thoughtful and intuitive sequence where postures are build on, mudras are incorporated, and there’s always a theme running throughout class. In her class you can always expect a groovy playlist, a few corny jokes, and a flowing sequence that will leave you feeling excited. She hopes to not only provide a place for people to play with expanding their practice safely but also a place where people are able to reflect. A place where people can use the posture as a road and not the final destination- to inquire further within themselves. All the while falling over, dancing, and laughing through a great vinyasa flow. Outside of the studio you can find Alex scheme up her next trip with her fiancé and German Shepherd Taz (mania).
Heidi Krumland
RYT 200
Moving to Leavenworth, WA (2016) was not only recreationally enhancing for me but it was transformational as well. Through yoga and lots of internal work, I left my job as an elementary teacher and became a school psychologist and yoga instructor. Currently, I’m passionate about guiding slow and mindful movement with others, encouraging students to listen to their own body’s wisdom and discernment as we practice together. No matter the class, I hope you find space, warmth and presence.
Roselyn Robison
RYT 200
I discovered yoga almost 25 years ago while earning a BA in English Education. Early in my teaching career, yoga became a vital respite from demanding days in inner-city schools and evenings spent earning my Masters degree. After two children, two degrees, and years of practice—mainly at Hot Yoga Inc.—I joined my sister for a 200-hour Yoga Medicine training that shifted my focus from competitive physicality to a love of anatomy and meditation. Since then, I’ve taught many styles of yoga in studios and online while continuing my work as a public educator.
I am now a National Board Certified Teacher with over two decades of experience. As a yoga teacher, I blend my passions: thoughtful class design, individualized instruction, and an appreciation for language and nature. My classes reflect my perspective on yoga as a meditative space for self-care, a tool to support active athletes, and a lifelong practice that strengthens and restores the body.
Mandy Terry
RYT 200
The first 10 years of my yoga journey was mainly guided by Rodney Yee and Shiva Rea on DVD. In 2005 I attended a hot yoga class and was quickly hooked on the way my body felt transformed. At the time, I was deep into using alcohol and other substances, as well as dysfunctional behaviors to cope with my inner wounds and shame. When I became sober in 2008, yoga really began it’s transformative work. Through steady work with many pillars of support, and a consistent yoga practice, my spirit began to heal. I have a deep passion for sharing the wisdom of yoga and guiding others toward true self-love and compassion. This is why I teach yoga.
