What is Mindfulness-Based Stress

Reduction (MBSR)?

MBSR is the most widely researched, evidence-based

mindfulness program in the world. This 8-week course

was developed by John Kabat-Zinn at the University of

Massachusetts in 1979. It combines guided instruction in

different mindfulness practices, including meditation,

gentle yoga, group dialogue and exercises, and learning

about topics, such as a stress physiology and mindful

communication, in a warm and welcoming environment.
